A friend taught me to knit Icelandic wool ski hats in college and I’ve been knitting ever since. While the style, yarn and needles have changed my passion for knitting has not.

I started K.D.Hill Knitwear in 1994 with my first order of 700 pairs of mittens for The Garnet Hill Catalog. While it was a great way to get started I realized knitting the same mittens over and over again was not what I wanted to do. I somehow managed to knit them all and after that I wanted to be a little more diverse. More colors, more patterns, more fun knitting! Now I knit for everybody from infants to adults and not just wool but cotton too!

My studio is located next to my house in Hinesburg, VT. All the knitwear is still made by just me. I prefer to keep it a “one woman show”.

I hope that everyone enjoys wearing my knitwear as much as I enjoy knitting it.
